- Yes, there are.
- Good. Four sandwiches please. And soft drinks.
- How many soft drinks?
- Four please. Thanks.
- You´re welcome.
Atividade 40
do Lucas.
Man: A) How ___ I help you?
We have all kinds of sandwiches here.
Lucas: B) ____ there cheese in this one?
Man: C) Yes, there ___.
Lucas: D) How _____ cheese __ there?
Man: E) A lot!
Lucas: F) Really? Good! I love cheese!
G) ___ there (lettuce and) tomatoes (too)?
Man: H) Yes, there ___.
Lucas: I) Good. Four sandwiches, please. And soft drinks.
Man: J) How ____ softdrinks?
Lucas: K) Four please! Thanks!
Man: L) ______ ______!
Atividade 41
A) ____ ______ cheese in this one?
B) Yes, _____ ____.
Como o Lucas pergunta se há tomates? Qual é a resposta?
C) ____ _____ tomatoes?
D) Yes, _____ ____.
Some Foods = Algumas Comidas
cheese = queijo lettuce = alface tomatoes = tomates soft drink= refrigerante
juice = suco milk = leite water = água bread = pão meat = carne
onions = cebolas hamburger = hamburguer sandwich = sanduíche
ketchup = ketchup mustard = mostarda
novo verbo é a mesma que vimos com o verbo “to be”. Invertemos
“there” com “is” ou “are”. Agora, se esta pergunta ainda
não lhe ocorreu, deixe-me provocá-la: por que há duas maneiras
de dizer a mesma coisa? Por que não só “there is”, ou então
só “there are”? Boa pergunta, não? Good question, heim? (Entendeu
minha pergunta?) Alguém arrisca uma resposta? (...)
Teacher!!!
Atividade 42
o Lucas quer.
A) _____ ____ cheese is there in this one?
B) ____ _____ soft drinks ?
Atividade 43
Repare no texto:
As perguntas
do Lucas são, obviamente, interrogativas. “There is” e “there are”
correspondem ao nosso verbo “haver”. Na linguagem cotidiana, usamos
muitas vezes “ter” no sentido de “haver”. Dizemos, “Tem queijo
no sanduíche”. Ao invés de “Há queijo no sanduíche”. Mas em Inglês
(but in English), isso não é possível.
“How many” é usado para aquilo que podemos contar, como garrafas ou latas
de refrigerante, por exemplo. Corresponde ao nosso “quanto(a)s”. “How
“How much”,
portanto, corresponde ao nosso “quanto(a)”. Entende? Understand?
que você usaria, how many ou how much? (Ou seja, quais destas
coisas são contáveis e quais não são?)
A) ______ ________ bread?
B) ______ ________ pieces of bread?
C) ______ ________ juice?
D) ______ ________ cups of juice?
E) ______ ________ milk?
F) ______ ________ cups of milk?
G) ______ ________ lettuce?*
H) ______ ________ tomatoes?
I) ______ ________ ketchup?
J) ______ ________ sandwiches?
usaria: there is ou there are? (Contáveis ou não contáveis?)
K) ________ ____ onions.
L) ________ ____ juice.
M) _______ ____water.
N) ________ ____ mustard.
O) ________ ____ tomatoes.
P) ________ ____ hamburgers.
There is ou There are?
Q) ________ ____ a hamburger.
R) ________ ____ four hamburgers.
S) ________ ____ an onion.
T) ________ ____ ten onions.
U) ________ ____ a tomato.
V) ________ ____ six tomatoes.
W)____ ________ a hamburger?
X) ____ ________ four hamburgers?
Y) ____ ________ an onion?
Z) ____ ________ ten onions?
AA) ____ ________ a tomato?
BB) ____ ________ six tomatoes?
história de contável e não contável, There is e There are. How
many e How much, nem tanto (por enquanto!). Aí na próxima
aula você pode apenas brincar de falar “There is alguma coisa.
There are outras coisas... Is there isso no seu bairro? Is there tal
coisa na sua sala?” Etc.
Bons estudos!
